Satu Nahkuri

Dr. Satu Nahkuri is a Senior Leader in Data & Analytics at the Roche Innovation Center Zurich, Switzerland. Her team develops AI-powered tools enabling Target Discovery in pharmaceutical research. She is passionate about making target-relevant data available on demand for aspiring drug project leaders through ultimate data FAIRification at the human-computer interface.

To this end, her strategy entails three major pillars: vectorizing internal and in-licensed data assets at scale to support Retrieval Augmented Generation; improving an in-house Knowledge Graph Database that distills biological information into triples and serves it to data-driven applications; and developing a target evaluating system based on autonomous agents that leverage these and other machine-readable entry points.

Dr. Nahkuri joined Roche in 2012. Before her career in the pharmaceutical industry, she was an epigenetics postdoctoral scholar at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich. Dr. Nahkuri holds an M.Sc. in Information Systems from Helsinki University and a Ph.D. in Computational Biology and Genomics from the University of Queensland, Australia.
